Welcome from the Editor

Welcome back to Spindlicity! If you are a long-time reader, we hope you enjoy our new and improved version of the online spinning magazine that you've grown to love. If you are new to Spindlicity, welcome! We have a new style and a lot of new features, expanded articles and online resources to share with you all. Spindlicity has always been a labor of love, and we hope you can feel all the fibery love in this issue.

mmmmmm..... SILK!

The focus of this issue is the beautiful fiber silk. We have two articles from Michael Cook, silkworker extraordinaire, techniques for spinning silk, making your own silk hankies and a video on spinning from the fold which is a great technique when spinning slippery silk top. So dive in and enjoy the luxuriousness of all that silk!

New Staff!

Along with the new look and features, we also welcome a new staff! Beth Smith from The Spinning Loft in Howell Michigan joins us as co-editor in charge of spinning and fiber articles. Abby Franquemont of Franquemont Fibers joins us as contributing editor, and Kathy Hinckley who has long been our website guru takes on some contributing editor tasks.

We have lots of plans to expand Spindlicity in future issues and we'd love to hear suggestions from you. Let us know what you like, what you don't like, or what you would like!

Looking for Staff

We are looking for an ad manager for Spindlicity. This would be a commission paid position on a part time basis. If you are interested, please email at spindlicity

Spindlicity Swag!

Just in time for the holidays we bring you new Spindlicity Swag, perfect for your spinning friends, guild members, swap partners or yourself! Please visit our Spindlicity Swag page to browse all the goodies we have in stock, like our brand new Spindlicity Spindles 2009 Calendar!
